Paro FC is a professional football club from Paro, Bhutan, which plays in Bhutan Premier League, the top league of football in Bhutan. The club was founded in 2018 and plays its home game at Woochu Sports Arena. Paro FC first competed in the 2018 Bhutan National League after beating Paro United in the qualifying tournament, and finished the season as the runners-up behind Transport United FC.
In 2019, Paro FC reached the semi-finals of the first-ever Samtse Championship. Same year, Paro FC was crowned Champions of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck Memorial Gold Cup, after defeating two big clubs from Nepal, Tribhuvan Army FC and Three Star FC.
Paro FC won its first national league title by winning the 2019 edition of the BOB Bhutan Premier League. The first international debut for Paro FC was in AFC cup 2020 against Sri Lankan side Defenders FC, with a win, qualified for afc round two against Bengaluru FC of Indian Super League (ISL).
The 2020 BPL season was Paro FC’s worst finish having to settle for 3th place, making it their lowest finish in the BPL since establishment. The renewed Paro FC team for 2021 season fought till the last match at home, and the equalizer from Yeshi Dorji against the defending champion Thimphu City was enough to bring back home, the Championship for the second time. Qualifying for AFC cup 2022 against Club Eagle from the Maldives was Paro FC’s second time competing at the international level.
Paro FC entered BPL 2022 season with a winning spree. However, prior two tournaments for Paro FC didn’t go well. In President Cup, Paro FC was eliminated in semi-final. Whereas in the Coronation Cup, Paro FC came as runners-up.
