Paro FC Women — The Comeback Story of 2025

After a two-year break from women’s football, Paro FC Women made a powerful return to the BoB Bhutan Women’s National League 2025 — and what a comeback it was. From rebuilding a squad from scratch to finishing First Runners-Up, this season became a story of heart, resilience, and belief.

The club’s last championship came in 2022, before financial constraints and the growing responsibilities of the men’s side forced a pause. When AFC regulations later required all men’s clubs to operate women’s teams, Paro FC chose to see this not as an obligation but as an opportunity to empower women and give back to the game.

Starting from zero was never easy. While top clubs were stacked with national players, Paro FC Women began with none. But the club believed that teamwork and spirit could bridge any gap. With the addition of talented international players from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and the USA, the squad found the perfect blend of passion, experience, and belief.

Before the season began, few expected Paro FC Women to challenge the giants. Many ranked them fifth behind RTC Women FC, Transport United, Thimphu City, BFF U19, and UA Women. But match after match, the Tigers proved everyone wrong — playing fearless, intelligent football and showing remarkable unity.

At season’s end, Paro FC Women finished undefeated, level on 48 points with reigning champions RTC Women FC, and tied on head-to-head results — missing the title only on goal difference.

That narrow miss cannot overshadow the achievement. To return after two years, rebuild from the ground up, and stand toe-to-toe with the best is a victory of its own. Bhutanese girls never let us down — their spirit and strength spoke louder than any scoreline. Among them, Pema Choki Lhamo stood tall, leading with quiet courage and embodying what Paro FC stands for.

Together, they built more than a football team — they rebuilt belief.

Every player gave her all, every coach guided with purpose, and every staff member worked quietly behind the scenes to keep the dream alive. The outcome speaks volumes: resilience rewarded, potential realized, and Bhutanese women’s football rising stronger than ever.

This is not the finish line — it’s just the beginning. The Tigers of Woochu have roared back to life, and next season, they’ll return hungrier, sharper, and ready to bring the title home.

Because champions don’t stop when they fall short — they rise, learn, and come back harder.
