The BPL table topper had indecisive first forty five minutes at Changlimithang yesterday. Opening ten minutes for Paro was intense and almost conceded an early goal, had it not been to great stop by skipper Gyeltshen Zangpo. That reminded Paro of the venerability at back, and game that could be anyones – if boys are not taken seriously. Finding an early net was urgent for Paro, to keep momentum and to stay on the top of the table. Paro FC failed to execute the game plan, and unable to show their first leg dominance. It was match of two equal halves, and had to settled for goalless at halftime. The first half performance from the BFF Boys was class of brilliance and persistence. “ we have been training for this big match – working on speed, endurance, physical and on physiology of the players” says BFF coach. The BFF boys have stick to the game plan and were much better as a team in the first half. However, the start of second half saw constant pressure on host, several chances were created one after another – Paro were playing more like a defending champion. What lacked in first half was made up in second with a renewed energy and sense of urgency. Constant high press from visitor ultimately lead to finding a header goal from Chencho Gyeltshen at 58 minutes. The credit also goes to Phub Thinley, for blocking the clearance that skillfully got converted into goal by Chencho. The first goal made all the difference, as game dynamics shifted and lot more chances were created. At 77 minutes, a through pass from Phurba finds Kazou to put visitor two goals ahead. On the other hand, BFF boys also have had their chances, but Paro FC defenders have kept things under control. BFF have improved considerably over course of season, and fully deserve applause. We now focus on Royal Thimphu College FC at Woochu Sports Arena on 27th November 2022 at 3PM.

Paro FC displays grit against Tensung
With the start of second league, Coach Puspa Lal praised his players for physical dominance and mental presence. Yesterday’s match against Tensung FC displayed the winning characters of our team. 4-0 at their own home ground against physically strong team, and specially having to outplay the coach who had previously assisted Puspa lal at Paro FC is not an easy task. An early six minutes tap-in from skipper Kazou Homma proved to be the crucial. For a goal to be perfect, a build-up must be flawless, and it was so – the long rage clearing pass from Dang to Chencho Gyeltshen, who speed past Tensung defense, and a low ground cross made all the difference. Game against Tensung saw good number of players rotation, Coach says ” Some substitution was done for technical reason, few not available due to minor injuries, and also to give playing time to others to keep them game fit “. Second goal for Paro was a bit of luck and a constant pressure for another goal. Florent’s long over head pass to Dang slip through legs of Tensung goali, which resulted from Dang’s high press on Tensung goali. Before half-time, numerous chances were created and we could have easily added few more goals, but Tensung’s stubborn defence kept the game alive and entertaining. However, right before halftime whistle, the poor ‘Penalty area’ clearance, and a perfect outside foot kick from Tsheltrium Namgyel found the back of the Tensung net making it 3-0 at halftime. After halftime, Paro FC played cautiously to maintain clean-sheet and several tactical changes were made to have control over the game. Nevertheless, equal goal scoring chances were created after the halftime, and penalty was as a result of constant attacking pressure. Kazou stood up for the occasion, and as always unhurriedly netting his second and fourth for Paro FC. Next on 22nd we play the BFF academy at Changlimithang Stadium. The young and energetic team capable of upsetting any BPL teams – a team one should never underestimate.

A Workshop on Mindfulness and Self-Reflection
We are honored to have Mr. Victor Gurung lead a brief workshop on mindfulness and self-reflection for the men’s team today at Woochu Sports Arena. Team activities were organized among players to encourage them to reflect on, contemplate, assess, and give significant thought to their team behaviors, beliefs, attitudes, motivations, and desires. Mr. Victor shared among the participants that although this adage is undoubtedly accurate, it is not always simple to exercise self-reflection Our world moves at an extraordinarily rapid rate. Our cell phones never stop buzzing, social media never stops ringing, and Netflix never runs out of new content to consume. It’s becoming more and more difficult to take the time to reflect. Unfortunately, the majority of us lead unquestioning lives. The workshop’s major goal was to essentially unite everyone as a single team while encouraging self-reflection to advance both professional and personal development. Team acitvites were organised among players to encourage to reflect on, contemplate, assess, and give significant thought to your team behaviors, thoughts, attitudes, motivations, and desires.

BFF Academy played excellently and put in a valiant effort up until the second goal just before halfway. However, in the second half, Paro FC took control of the match and made it a one-sided affair. In the second half of the game, Paro FC scored four goals. Fans were able to see Kazua Humma’s hat trick today as well as Chencho Gyeltshen’s long-awaited goal. However, the two goals scored by Captian Kinley and Dang were fantastic to earn 3 points against BFF Academy.

Chencho Gyeltshen, a forward for Paro Football FC, is a hero to Transport United FC sensation Tsenda Dorji, who refers to him as his idol and has made no secret of his love and respect for CG7.
